Information from the census helps determine how billions of dollars of government funding is allocated across communities. The data is also used extensively by iwi, businesses, local government and community groups to inform decision making and plan services - services that matter to us all.

Māori participation in the 2018 Census is critical. These positions will play a leading role in engaging with Māori for the 2018 Census.

You will be able to translate strategic intent, community values and data sources into regionally specific tactical approaches that are culturally appropriate. You will have a good understanding of the multiple realities or Māori and the breadth of modern challenges that can impact on engagement.
